Dj Dom sits down with Portland by way of Arkansas hip-hop artist Rasheed Jamal to talk about his music, the Northwest scene, and a few other topics. @RememberAlwayz If your familiar with Portland hip-hop, Rasheed Jamal shouldn't be a new name to you. Although originally hailing from Arkansas, he has made a name for himself amonst PDX's local elite. His sound has a southern feel to it but also a stream of consciousness that is right at home within our local hip-hop music. For this Rasheed Jamal interview we wanted to give it a radio vibe and were blessed to utilize South End Studios new drum room. Always trying to connect the dots of the Northwest scene we sent Yakima's Dj Dom to Portland to interview Rasheed. While Dom had only been privy to a few tracks from the Portland rapper, he asked questions about the local scene as well as the basis for Rasheed's music. What you get is a look inside the man behind the music as well as his thoughts on Portland hip-hop and pays homage to a few Seattle emcees.
